What you can do to keep your property in good shape this summer.
Whether your home is for sale or you have a rental property, here are a couple of tips for you on handling your property during the summer months.
If you have a rental property, you have that all-important “changeover time.” Is that a set time and day? What type of changeovers do you have occurring? Do you have a cleaning crew? Do they come in at a specific time as well? If you’re renting the property and you have it for sale, does your cleaning crew come in early enough to finish before buyers come into the property? Is there an inventory and evaluation being done on your property? Do you have someone come in to take a look at the property to make sure there’s no damage to the unit?
Keep your eye on the property during the summer months whether you rent it or have it for sale.
Here are some tips to remember for maintaining the property’s exterior: If you have a landscaper, do they come at a specific time of day and cut your grass, weed your beds, and rake the leaves? Do you do it yourself? Is there a specific time and day of the week that you like to do that? If you cut the grass on Thursdays, it will look nice and short for the weekend.
If you have a garage door, make sure the openers are all functioning properly. Is the outside shower tidy? Don’t leave soap and towels in your backyard. When people come through the door, is it falling off the hinges?
